A Letter from Ms. JD's President & CEO

Dear Future Trailblazers,

Welcome to the inaugural issue of the Ms. JD Pre-Law Magazine—a space we have created just for you.  Whether you are considering law school, already knee-deep in LSAT prep, or somewhere in between, this publication is your companion on the path ahead.

I knew I wanted to become a lawyer as early as the fifth grade.  Yet, with no lawyers in my family, the path into law and law school was largely unclear.  I still remember being a pre-law student: juggling classes, school organizations, internships, and endless questions about whether I was good enough, prepared enough, or connected enough to make it in law school.  What I did not realize then—and what I know now—is that the legal profession is not a destination you arrive at perfectly formed.  It is a journey.  And you belong on it.

At Ms. JD, we envision a world where every woman can design and realize her legal career without limit.  This magazine reflects that vision.  Inside, you will find stories of resilience, practical guidance, and inspiration from women who have sat where you sit now—wondering if they have what it takes. (Spoiler: they did.  And so do you.)

So here is my advice:

Own your story.  Whether it is full of twists, setbacks, or triumphs, it is uniquely yours—and it is powerful.

Ask for help.  The legal profession can feel intimidating, but there is a community here ready to lift you up.

Redefine success.  There is no one right way to be a lawyer.  Your path may be different, and that is more than okay—it is necessary.

I hope this issue reminds you that you are not alone.  Ms. JD is here to walk with you, advocate for you, and cheer you on every step of the way.
