Jaz is a rising 3L at Oklahoma City University School of Law, where she is pursuing an Alternative Dispute Resolution Certificate. She currently serves as President of both the American Bar Association and the Texas Legal Society at OCU Law.  Nationally, she was appointed Director of Career and Professional Development for the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA).

Throughout law school, Jaz has demonstrated a commitment to service and leadership. As a 1L, Jaz served as a Student Bar Association (SBA) Representative for the John E. Green Black Law Student Association (BLSA) and the OCU Law Fighting for Innocence through Exoneration (FITE). She later expanded her impact as Social Media Chair for both organizations, amplifying their missions and building community engagement.

Jaz is a Law Clerk at Terry Bruner Law Office (TBLO), a niche boutique HUD transactional firm in Houston, TX where she supports complex real estate transactions. She interned at the Oklahoma City Municipal Counselor’s Office and Hopson Legal. She also contributes to the meaningful work of the Oklahoma Innocence Project. She was also a top-four finalist in her 1L Oral Argument Moot Court competition.

Prior to law school, Jaz was a broadcast journalist. She earned a Bachelor of Journalism with an emphasis in Radio-Television Reporting and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Missouri.
