Allison Whitehead is a 1L at Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. As an undergraduate majoring in Economics, Law, and Public Policy at Mercer University, she worked to break down the town-gown divide and contribute to the revitalization of Macon, Georgia by spearheading large-scale community service projects, conducting research for local economic development organizations, and developing policy proposals for the local government. Her passion for city-level activism and neighborhood advocacy led her to pursue a law degree. Due to her community engagement, WashU awarded her the Webster Society Scholarship, as well as a Dean's Fellowship, upon admission to the law school. At WashU, she has excelled in her first-year courses, earned an Excellence in Oral Advocacy Award, and been selected as Co-President of the Women’s Law Caucus for the 2024-2025 academic year. This summer, she will be a judicial intern in the US Bankruptcy Court of the Western District of Washington, through the American Bar Association’s Judicial Internship Opportunity Program. This fall, she will participate in an externship with a local business in St. Louis through WashU's Lawyering Practice Externship program. In the future, she hopes to use her law degree to counsel and advocate for small business owners and nonprofits, two primary drivers of local economic development. Additionally, she is committed to advocating for the progress of women in law and women business owners throughout her career.
