Pavitra Antony is a rising third-year law student at Brooklyn Law School, and a candidate for an LLM in Public International Law at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. She is an active member of the South Asian, Women of Color, and OutLaws associations.
Pavitra has a strong interest in human rights law, particularly the intersection of emergent technology, policy, and rights. Her current research is on the international legislation of algorithms that impact human rights across borders. Through her time at Brooklyn, she has served as a research assistant for projects on race and information law, racial impact on the child welfare system, and the sociolegal history of disparate impact on LGBTQIA+ communities. Her previous work includes supporting disability rights in housing law and women’s rights in India. Pavitra earned her BA from St. John’s College, where she chaired the International Student Association and Senior Legacy Project.
