Shahiedah Shabazz is a thoughtful advisor who brings over 15 years of experience as an attorney and entrepreneur to guiding clients through complex regulatory challenges. Shahiedah is a Chicago native who graduated from Harvard Law School in 2008 with a concentration in
government and real estate law. Her career has included positions in AmLaw and boutique firms, advising corporate clients on real estate and land use matters, as well as service as a local government attorney, advising government agencies on policy development and implementation. Shahiedah currently is Of Counsel at Quarles & Brady LLP, where she provides land use and zoning, regulatory licensing and compliance, and transactional real estate counsel to clients in a range of cutting-edge industries, including cannabis licensing and M&A.
Shahiedah is licensed in California and Illinois and has practiced in multiple cities throughout her career. Her thirst for knowledge inspired her to obtain an MBA and certificate in nonprofit grant writing after graduating from law school. Her entrepreneurial drive led to her owning multiple businesses and briefly serving as the Executive Director of an international nonprofit
organization.
Outside of work, Shahiedah serves on two nonprofit boards that work to improve conditions for lower income people in the Chicagoland area: Habitat for Humanity Chicago and the Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County (CEDA).
